Registered Nurse

Wessex Care are currently recruiting for full and part time Registered Nurses

Working as a nurse with Wessex Care, you will be required to lead shifts and manage the day to day care of elderly residents in a nursing home.  Duties will include care planning, staff delegation and mentoring, liaising with visiting professionals and families, assisting with End-of-Life Care and any other duties delegated by the Care Manager.

We are also currently offering a £500 joining bonus for anyone successfully completing their first months employment with us.

What you need and should offer

1. Qualifications
RGN or RMN with valid UK NMC PIN
A demonstrable commitment to professional development

2. Experience
Experience within a medical environment
Experience within care home or elderly care environments (desirable but not essential)

3. Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of medical nursing
Knowledge of various drugs and their interactions and side effects
Know NMC code of conduct
Understanding of own professional and clinical limitations
Ability to receive & communicate information accurately and take instruction from professional colleagues.
Computer Literate
Clear and legible handwriting

4. Qualities/Attributes
Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm in developing clinical skills
An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality
Demonstrate initiative, working without direct supervision
Resourcefulness and common sense
Ability to respond to a demanding, changing environment
Ability to rganise work load and work under pressure
Ability to identify risks and alert individuals as necessary
Ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team
Organised and reliable
Pleasant and articulate with good listening, communication and observation skills
Be comfortable with close personal contact and have a matter-of-fact approach to carrying out personal tasks
Be caring and have a warm and friendly nature
Be fit enough to cope with an active job that sometimes involves lifting
An awareness of stress and how to deal with it
Be comfortable and confident in taking charge and directing a team
Build positive, enabling and motivating relationships with your customers in order to support them in all aspects of daily living.
